Welcome to the Frayser Community Association Home Page. Frayser is a community in the City of Memphis on the scenic Wolf River. This community of 50,000 is outlined by three rivers: the Mississippi, the Loosahatchie and the Wolf. The eastern boundary is the Illinois Central RR ((IC), which is the dividing line between Frayser and Raleigh communities.

This web site includes a monthly calendar (click Here), a one page newsletter and special announcements of upcoming events.

The Frayser Community Association (FCA) is an umbrella organization for neighborhood associations in Frayser. The FCA office is located at 2907 N. Watkins in the Frayser/Ed Rice Community Center – in space provided by the Division of Park Services. This office is shared with Tennessee Mentorship, and the office Manager is Maureen Spain. The office shares telephone (901-354-7899), FAX (901-354-7979), email ( tnmento@bellsouth.net ) and mailing address (P O Box 27167).

The Frayser Community Association also serves Frayser organizations such as the Frayser Interfaith Association. As a service to Frayser organizations, the FCA office maintains a current list of Frayser organizations and contact information for each organization. This list is updated for the monthly mailing and this web site.

FCA has a special relationship to the Frayser Community Development Corporation (FCDC). In the beginning, they shared office space as well as bylaws. The FCDC is now located at 3394 Overton Crossing in the Frayser Plaza Shopping Center. Their telephone number is 354-7152, and the web site is: www.neighborhoodlink.com/org/fcdc . The annual meeting for FCA and FCDC (joint meeting) is held in January of each year.

The monthly mailing for FCA is 1,100. FCA needs members for 2006. The dues are $10 per year m but only $5 if you are a paid member of another Frayser organization. Paid membership is required for the elections in January. At this time, nonmembers receive the monthly mailing.

For Frayser nonprofits, the FCA is interested in small news items and/or a one-page insert at no cost.

For Frayser business owners, we are exploring advertising inserts and sponsorships with recognition on the FCA web site.

For 2006 all members will be asked to provide their email address. Currently, FCA uses City Watch for automatic telephone calls to remind members of meetings. Maureen is the Voice of Frayser. Next year our community network will include email.
